Teams were able to fully control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring facilities, the authority confirmed

Civil defence teams in Sharjah have begun cooling operations after bringing an accidental fire at a clothing warehouse located in Industrial area 10 under control.

The incident originally happened at 12.51pm on Monday, April 6, after which civil defence, police and specialised teams reached the site in order to contain it and prevent it from spreading.

Upon further investigation, the authority revealed the blaze broke out due to sparks flying during welding work on metal tools at the site, which led to flammable materials catching fire.

No injuries were recorded in the incident, it confirmed.

Teams were able to fully control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring facilities, while cooling operations continue in accordance with established procedures, it added.

The authority called on the public to obtain information from official sources and follow updates through approved channels, affirming their readiness to handle various reports around the clock and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of individuals and facilities.
